About Dorone Feingold
During my specialized engineering studies, I completed internships at the Institute of Biomedical Research of the Armed Forces (IRBA) within the Fatigue and Vigilance Unit (UFV). There, I had the opportunity to work closely with Principal Physician Emeric Saguin and a multidisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and clinicians on the SOMMEPT project.During my fourth-year internship, which spanned four months, I contributed to the development of medical data acquisition synchronization algorithms for nocturnal periods. My work also involved analyzing trauma-related nightmares using sleep data and physiological metrics (such as heart rate, electrodermal activity, and movement) among military personnel and veterans with PTSD. This work culminated in my contribution as the second author to a research article.Following this internship, I received a job offer as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) for an open-label clinical study (the Vanda study, conducted by MEDPACE®), focusing on the treatment of non-24-hour sleep-wake disorder in blind individuals lacking light perception. Subsequently, I completed a six-month internship at IRBA, continuing my previous research on trauma-related nightmares, with a focus on their characterization.Currently, I am working as a CRA while pursuing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence at Université Paris-Cité, in collaboration with the URP 7330 VIFASOM laboratory and the Hôpital d'Instruction des Armées de Bégin in Vincennes. My research focuses on predicting trauma-related nightmare awakenings in French military personnel and veterans with PTSD. The ultimate goal of this project is to develop an algorithm that can accurately predict these awakenings in real-time, with the potential to apply countermeasures during the night, improving clinical outcomes.In addition, I am actively participating in the Harpocrates project, a European initiative focused on the cryptography of health data, specifically sleep data. My role includes the digitization of sleep data and uploading it to the project’s dedicated platform, interacting with project members on data-related aspects, participating in weekly meetings and meetings organized by partner countries, and contributing to project communications through scientific conferences, posters, abstracts, and articles.By pursuing this interdisciplinary approach, I hope to contribute to significant advancements in neuroscience, particularly in the field of sleep research. Ultimately, I seek to leverage my skills and experiences to make a positive impact on individuals in need.
