Summary of role-Offering thought leadership and direction on Gender Rights, Girls Voice, Power (in)equalities, social norms change and gender transformative and inclusive programming across the consortium in four countries (Kenya, Somaliland, Ethiopia, and Senegal) .-Ensuring coherence of gender equality approach across all functions and levels of the programme. -Supporting the grants mechanism team in finding, funding, and amplifying Women/girl-led groups/organizations and expanding their leadership, activism and movement-building.-Leading in the implementation of a gender transformative, girl centered program in all levels of the programme cycle.-Providing technical guidance and developing best practice tools, strategies, guidance notes, curriculums, and training across the consortium .-Working closely with MEL colleagues, academics, policy institutions and other key stakeholders to lead on impact and other evaluations that contribute to the evidence base and uptake of research findings on FGM and other harmful practices.-Giving oversight across the programme on minimum standards on safe and effective FGM programming.

• Led a gender equality and Inclusion self-assessment/audit (GEISA) focusing on; office space and staff composition (Formal and informal culture); Program and influencing work; marketing/communication and partnerships. This led to the development of a gender mainstreaming strategy and costed workplan for the next 5 years. • Led in the integration and effective implementation of a gender transformative Program approach in all programs, projects and proposals.• Supported the business development unit in developing proposals using a gender lens including developing a gender integration checklist for their use.• Offered leadership and training to staff to ensure that all projects were subjected through the gender marker and IASC marker respectively.• Developed content and facilitated trainings to build the capacity of Plan’s program staff and partners to design, implement and monitor gender-transformative program.• Represented the organizations in several media engagements on gender and inclusion.

Summary of Role- Offering thought leadership and direction on gender mainstreaming across the consortium. Designing and leading a pilot project targeting women with disabilities to access employment in the private sector.This included leading a gender analysis and development of a gender mainstreaming strategy.• Supporting i2i consortium partners embrace gender transformative programming. This has included training and capacity building consortium members on gender equality and gender transformative programming, women economic empowerment and how this intersects with disability and other social factors.• Leading a pilot project targeting women with disabilities with a key goal of economic empowerment through formal employment in the private sector, improvement in employable and entrepreneurial skills through vocational skills and confidence and agency building.• Training, sensitizing and capacity building private sector employers and vocational training institutions engaged in the i2i project on gender mainstreaming and women economic empowerment and the importance of gender sensitive workplaces that are safe, inclusive and free from violence. This has included conducting gender and accessibility assessments as well as reviewing their policies to make sure they promote gender equality and disability inclusion.

In-charge of the Household Economic Strengthening department using ‘gender smart/Lens' investment approach which included;• Leading Participatory vulnerability capacity assessments (PVCA), market mapping, and prioritization of markets.• Building the capacity of women in supply chains and as entrepreneurs through enhanced linkages to identified value chains and financial lending institutions.• Leading in participatory ideation of business ventures, business model development, and capital investments.• Trained beneficiaries on basic financial skills including business management skills.• Result measurement and reporting which included; post vulnerability assessments and monitoring and evaluation which included highlighting successes, failures and recommendations.• Establishment and oversaw fourteen Village Savings and Loaning Association (VSLA) in Machakos sub-county• Established and coordinated eight Quality Improvement Teams (QIT) in Machakos sub county .QITs are stakeholder groups at community level whose main aim is to ensure sustainability and ownership of community projects
