Reporting to the Director of Library Technologies and Digital Library Programs, the Associate Director for Digital Library Content and Services:• Manages collection building and integration services functions of the DLP across all affiliated staff positions.• Serves as a lead on grant planning, writing and coordination across DLP staff and partners.• Has as direct reports the Metadata Services Librarian, the DLP Project Manager and the Digital Conversion Lab Manager.• Manages the digital conversion lab and the lab manager.• Manages the Sound and Video Analysis and Instruction Lab (SAVAIL)• Serves as a partner in strategic planning within the Library Technologies Division.• Develops, plans, and engages in outreach for digital collection building within DLP and for digital library support services as outlined in the new Indiana University Information Technology Strategic Plan (http://ovpit.iu.edu/itsp2/). • Provides management oversight for digital library collection building within the Indiana University System.• Provides grant-based project management within the Indiana University Library System.• Operates as a manager within the Libraries and the Library Technologies Division, works with other digital library and scholarly communications programs across the Indiana University System, within UITS and key library technology partners such as Research Technologies and the Institute for Digital Arts and Humanities.

• Researches, evaluates, and interprets developments in metadata standards to recommend and design appropriate metadata schema to support individual digital humanities projects developed by HSIS partners.• Provides advanced consultations to HSIS partners both at the DHO offices and at partner institutions throughout Ireland.• Adopts standards and disseminates information about their usage via documentation, templates, and training materials.• Working with the IT management, develops the metadata requirements of the DHO Fedora repository.• Assists in development efforts including the preparation of funding applications.• Develops, coordinates, and teaches seminars, workshops, symposia, and summer school courses.• Promotes the work of the DHO via professional activities such as conference presentations, articles, and poster sessions.

• Counsels faculty members in potential for transforming research interests into viable humanities computing projects. • Assesses knowledge and skill level of researcher and suggests strategies for implementation of project. • Investigates potential funding sources for project and participates in all grant research and grant writing activities of the Collaboratory. • Supports XML technologies (including TEI) in support of project development, in consultation with participating researchers. • Provides technical expertise, including tutorials and manuals on mark-up, to faculty and students associated with the RCH Collaboratory. • Assists in preparation of digital presentation materials for researchers' use at national and international meetings. • Contributes to research and writing of project publications. • Provides production management for ongoing projects.• Schedules use of the RCH Collaboratory by researchers and graduate assistants.• Maintains websites of RCH and associated projects. • Serves as staff liaison from the Collaboratory to personnel in participating departments on campus and the University Libraries.
