Senior Bat Ecologist: Experienced Senior Ecologist with a demonstrated history of working in the civil engineering industry. Skilled in Natural Resources, Habitat Management, Biodiversity, Environmental Awareness, and Natural Resource Management. Strong research professional with experience designing and manging bat consulting program for VHB, leading and conducting bat surveys for federally and state listed bats, particularly the Indiana bat, gray bat, and northern long-eared bat. 30 years experience in business management and working in natural resources with 12 years focused on working with bats in the southeastern United States and additional work in Africa and Central America. As well as Section 7 of the ESA consultation for clients and coordination with state and federal agencies, Dottie has conducted focused research, population census, and habitat managment assessments. Additional experience includes, pit tagging, mist netting and harp trapping, radio telemetry, emergence counts, acoustics, and roost and hibernaculum surveys, disease management, and more. Dottie possess a Federal USFWS Section 10 permit for listed as endangered and threatened bats in the US, the federally protected northern flying squirrel and bog turtle. Dottie has extensive experience, working with species, including but not limited to bog turtles, northern flying squirrels, hellbenders, and peregrine falcons, bears, elephants, mountain lions, jaguars, small mammals, rattlesnakes, salamanders, birds and invertebrates , and more. Additional training and experience includes, habitat management and restoration, caving and vertical climbing, eDNA collection, professional reports and management plans.
