My name is Dottie Fields, Occupation Specialist for Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). As a healthcare professional with over 27 years of experience in the health care industry, I have direct experience with on-site evaluations, which focuses on evaluating curriculum, facilities and equipment inspection that is utilized for the program of study. I have been a Registered Medical Assistant for 27 years, a Supervisor for 15 years, and a Program Chair for Allied Health programs for 9 years. I was hired at Olympia College as a Medical Assistant Instructor in 2003, and with my hard work and dedication I was promoted to Education Chair of Medical Assistant and Medical Administrative Assistant programs. With my experience on implementing and executing new programs from inception, I know the patience and dedication that goes into a startup. I generated curriculums and testing material, developed a medical lab for the students to practice their clinical skills, organized certification opportunity for the students, arranged externship and fulltime job opportunities, interviewed and hired instructors, conducted training and performed instructor’s evaluations. In 2005 I was recruited by Lincoln College of Technology to oversee their Medical Assistant program. I received numerous acknowledgements such as Education Supervisor of the year in which I received an all-expense paid trip for two to the Dominican Republic. I achieved excellent student satisfaction rate, purchased supplies while staying within my budget, achieved excellent numbers for retention goals, and retained staff to prevent high turnover rates. I have completed and submitted an application for Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) accreditation to the state and it was accepted on the first submission. I also accepted responsibility for the operation of the school’s campus in the absence of the Director of Education and campus President.
