In conjunction with the Lead Design Manager and SPM’s, I co-ordinate, integrate and manage the delivery of the design for Birmingham's new Curzon Street HS2 Station (Intercity terminus) ensuring the entire design for the Project meets the Project Requirements i.e. to achieve a high quality, safe, compliant and timely design at economical costs. The station will be the first brand new intercity terminus built in Britain since the 19th century.

Led, managed, and developed a team of Bridges and Structures Engineer in own team. I was responsible for managing the delivery of portfolio of works (2.5 million GBP); budget and bridge stock asset management of a total of 1099 structures across the whole of Nottinghamshire County Council. Project managed a total of 50 major schemes which encompasses structural maintenance/ rehabilitation schemes, new vehicular bridges and footbridge designs; bridge underfilling, etc. Responsibilities included but not limited to:- Managed and coordinated works programme and financial targets, ensuring both clients and stakeholder requirements are met. Monitored and controlled expenditure and took actions to correct variances on team’s projects and across work programmes. Led the continued commercial development of the bridge and structures team and contributed to the development strategy of the business.- Managed Capital programme maintenance repair works and the overall delivery of engineering tasks; reviewed socioeconomicmic constraints and budgets for the maintenance repair works (i.e., concrete repairs, cathodic protection to half joints, bridge deck re-waterproofing, emergency repair works, bridge maintenance painting contract, bridge joint repairs, principal/general inspections, etc.)- Managed the reinstatement of Carlton Ferry Lane Road Washout/ Road Collapse from inception to completion. A politically sensitive project involving Councillors and residents. I was the Project Lead and Project Manager for the entire operations from feasibility study stage, right through to construction completion. I guided and managed the execution of works (i.e., road strengthening and flood relief/alleviation), internally and externally, including third party/stakeholder liaison, coordinated meetings and communications, etc. Reviewed and approved designs, technical reports, construction drawings, health & safety documents, pre-construction information, contract payments, etc

N22 Baile Bhuirne to Macroom Road Development, is a £280 million project with over 150km stretch of new highway road development and numerous structural designs from culverts to underbridges, and the more significant overbridges and riverbridges. Involved in the engineering design and validation of specific discrete components on the flagship steel-composite Bohill Overbridge (a two-span ladder deck bridge, with three metres deep girders executed by launching) - Validation and detail design of steelwork connections; leaf pier; abutment gallery; FE Non-linear plastic analysis of girder web panels for verification of plate buckling and hungry horse effect., etc. Undertook detail design of the following pre-cast pre-stressed bridges with bankseat abutments and reinforced earth retaining wall (from technical approval stage through to construction): Slivereagh Underbridge, Ballyverrane Underbridge, Bhaile Bhurine Underbridge and Killeen Underbridge - 50m long reinforced concrete portal tunnel.

Being a philomath enabled the application of my analytical and technical skill-set to the discipline of bridge & structural engineering, in the area of numerical modeling (i.e. FE linear and non-linear analysis), soil structure interaction, structural rehabilitation/ bridge strengthening, design and assessment of different types of structural forms/materials. Undertook a range of projects and held responsibilities for both local authority projects/schemes to high profile projects, in the capacity of a - designer, checker, inspector, supervisor, mentor, health & safety, etc. Some project highlights are but not limited to HS2; Smart Motorway (SMP) M4 Junc. 3-12 & M6 Junc. 2-4; A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme; A82 Tarbet to Inverarnan (Scotland); M1-A6 Link Road; Bromford Flood Alleviation Scheme, etc. Some highlights of undertakings are but not limited to: Battenhall Railway Post-tension Bridge (Soil Structure Interaction analysis & CAT3 Check); A14 New Barns Lane Bridge (CAT3 Design Check of two-span structure with W12 PCPS beams); M1 A6 Luton Link Road Bridge (Numerical analysis of 72m steel composite structure); Coton Road Post-tension Bridge (Level 3 Structural Assessment & Consultation), etc..

Numerous undertakings, some highlights of project involvement are but not limited to: Lagan Footbridge, Staffordshire Viaduct/ Western Access, Stafford; A40 Golden Valley Bypass road improvement; ASC6&8 Maintenance works, etc. Highlights of undertakings are but not limited to: - Assisted with optimisation and design of Lagan Cable-stayed Footbridge (in Belfast, Northern Ireland); contributed to the structural modelling and analysis for interrogation of eigenvalues/vectors, fundamental frequencies, mode shapes, time (period) response, mass & stiffness theories, etc.- Undertook the detail design of (dualling) Elm Bridge Court Subway (with a fully integral reinforced concrete portal with full height tapered abutment) on the A40 Golden Valley Bypass (Gloucester); produced ‘Bills of quantities; supervised CAD Technician; reviewed drawings and produced technical reports. -Assisted with structural modelling and detail design of pile rafts, abutment including pile-caps, bearing-shelf, ballast-wall and curtain-wall. Assisted with structural modelling, analysis and assessment of dilapidated marine piers (to Australian CoP AS5100).
