Hi! My name is Marie. I graduated from Pueblo Community College with an Associate of Applied Science: Health Information Technology in 2021. I graduated summa cum laude, and was awarded the outstanding graduate award in 2021 and was on the President's Honor List in 2019, and I'm a member of Phi Theta Kappa. I completed my internship at a small critical access hospital in Colorado where I worked in the Health Information Department. I passed my Certified Coding Specialist exam (On my first try!) in September of 2021. After getting my CCS certification I began job searching and ultimately decided I wanted to get my CPC credential through AAPC as well. I took the CPC exam November 2022 and passed on the first try. I absolutely love medical coding. I find it fascinating. To me, it is like being able to speak another language. I have often been described as a team-player, friendly, detail-oriented, and an analytical thinker.In my free time I love reading and writing. Theatre, concerts, photography as well as dirt-track racing are other hobbies of mine. My family and I moved to the beautiful state of Maine in September of 2022. It is a completely different change of pace from Colorado and I am loving being able to go see the ocean. Also, the autumn colors cannot be beat!
