Geographic Information Systems (Gis) Manager
CurrentProvide project oversight for GIS standards and compliance development, GIS facility management, management of GIS projects and contractors, implementation of public information/relations for GIS, preparation and monitoring of GIS budget, and management of legal aspects regarding GIS data.Scope new GIS development projects and identify required resources for completion.Serve as a liaison with agency leadership, GIS users, state and federal stakeholders, the GIS industry, and the public.Assist in developing GIS policies and procedures for review and approval.Support previously developed GIS applications for emergency management functions.Develops training plans for Port staff to operate and utilize enterprise GIS and web GIS.Develop workflow and manage GIS-data updates. Assist with determining resources needed for these updates. Assist with conversions from Autocad to GIS for data updates on completed projects.Establish GIS standards for data quality and accuracy.Monitor new technologies and manage implementation of improvements for GIS functionality.Work with the IT department to administer the emergency notification system for employees.Assist in the coordination of post-disaster damage assessments; provide data and technology support for damage assessment process.Develops and applies GIS analysis solutions to meet specific needs of other Port departments and projects.Serves as the GIS technical lead and point of contact for GIS activities.Perform GIS data quality control by reviewing data for completeness and accuracy, and identifying and correcting errors or omissions in the data.Develop training plans for Port staff to operate and utilize enterprise GIS and web GIS.Provide technical user support for geospatial data, software, and web applications. Provide assistance in the budgeting and procurement processes for GIS management services.
