I completed my enlistment with the U.S. Navy Seabees in Port Hueneme, CA in Feb. 1990 as a heavy equipment operator. I then went to work for Ventura Petroleum Service in Santa Paula, CA, an oilfield trucking and services company for a year before hiring on with VECO and then Dickson GMP Intl.During my course of employment with VECO an assignment took me offshore in July 1991 where I've been working ever since.Up until Feb. '99 I worked mainly on the platform maintenance side (sandblasting, painting, construction, tank/vessel cleaning and repairs, crane operating / rigging and assist operations).Although still involved in the supervision of those tasks, my current position is one of an oil and gas production operator, which includes operations and maintenance of petroleum transportation pipelines and offshore crane operator / trainer.
