Joined the firm as a trainee CA in 1998, qualified with ICAS in 2001 and progressed through to Senior Manager. Throughout that time I was involved with all aspects of corporate audit, accountancy compliance, VAT advisory, financial forecasting and budgeting, taxation, cash flow management and other general advisory services. I worked with clients across a wide range of sectors but specialised in all types of rural business, particularly large landed estates and farms. I was the staff manager for the Edinburgh audit and accounts team, which provided me with significant experience of appraising, recruiting, coaching, work flow management and delegation. I was also a course director for the firm's national development programme aimed at the firm's most talented and promising qualified members of staff.
