I am a fire service professional having worked my way up from Firefighter I (seasonal) to become the acting Unit Chief in Siskiyou county, retiring in 2005. I reinstated to Deputy Chief in January of 2007 to run the CAL FIRE training academy as the Academy Administrator. I retired again in 2008. Notable achievements while employed with Cal Fire Include:Lead Instructor for Incident Management 3, the Cal Fire training program for newly minted Battalion Chiefs.Original development team member for the Cal-Fire All Risk Advanced Incident Management (AAIM) Training ProgramParticipated in the development of the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) training standards. SEMS was adopted at the Federal level and has become the National Incident Management System (NIMS). In addition to being the Director/Business Manager of the Etna City Ambulance Service, I am also involved with the Siskiyou County Search and Rescue Team and The Fort Jones Volunteer Fire Department. As a member of the Siskiyou County SAR I am part of the Overhead Team assisting with the organization of searches. With Fort Jones Fire, I am the President of their 501c3 fund raising organization and I also assist the Chief with grant writing.
