Writer, editor, columnist, and newspaper owner — for years, even decades . Wrote and published News Hounds: An Accidental Newspaper Life on Martha's Vineyard, an amiable story of how the dogs got me into all this.During my long newspaper career, I have published books and magazines as ancillaryproducts associated with the newspapers. I have lived the day-to-day life of a weeklynewspaper owner and editor, meeting every deadline and managing my staffs to do the same,as well as budgeting, capital planning and sales team leadership. I wrote weekly editorials and awide ranging column – hundreds of both. I have trained and edited the work of writers of allages, including college age interns and recent graduates, teaching them to write clearly andexpressively on a great variety of topics.
