Iris Systems was supported by venture capital to develop a wireless meter reading system for utility companies. My role was to study the reliability of signal propagation in various scenarios, both theoretically and by analyzing our own test data, and estimate the communication reliability for proposed data protocols. My job ended when the largest investor suddenly pulled out and the company went out of business.
