From 2006 to 2020, he also produced and hosted the New York Times' annual Taste of the World culinary travel showcase.He is a frequent speaker on culinary cultural trends, has written for Food Arts and other industry publications, and is a contributor to the Oxford Encyclopedia on Food and Drink in America and Savoring Gotham, a history of New York City food and drink. He currently serves as the chair of the American Friends of the Oxford Symposium on Food & Cookery. He is former chair of the board of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (“IACP”) and former board member of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey. Doug holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a JD from Boston University School of Law. His cooking experience includes the original Legal Sea Foods in Cambridge, Massachusetts (1978) and the Spiral Restaurant in Miami (1972).
