Doug Duda works in the intersection of food, education and entertainment to create programming, events and venues that offer revenue and branding opportunities for companies, institutions and individuals.He is best known for his pioneering work in the development of multi-user culinary centers with facilities and programming for enthusiasts, educators and industry, including Astor Center (NYC), Miami Culinary Institute (Miami), and Redland Farm Life Center, a community culinary center for classes, events, and new business incubation in rural South Florida.Doug's interest in developing culinary community centers is an outgrowth of his experience as co-creator (with filmmaker George Billard) and host of the A&E International television series, The Well-Seasoned Traveler, devoted to the exploration of world cultures through food and drink. From 2006 to 2020, he also produced and hosted the New York Times' annual Taste of the World culinary travel showcase.He is a frequent speaker on culinary cultural trends, has written for Food Arts and other industry publications, and is a contributor to the Oxford Encyclopedia on Food and Drink in America and Savoring Gotham, a history of New York City food and drink. He currently serves as the chair of the American Friends of the Oxford Symposium on Food & Cookery. He is former chair of the board of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (“IACP”) and former board member of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey. Doug holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a JD from Boston University School of Law. His cooking experience includes the original Legal Sea Foods in Cambridge, Massachusetts (1978) and the Spiral Restaurant in Miami (1972).
