My work as a producer, director, and writer for major cable network programming has found me at the intersection of pop culture, history and science. Whether it's as Series Producer for Travel, Senior Producer for NOVA, a Supervising Producer for History, or as a producer and writer for a hit game show, I've turned all manner of subjects into interesting and entertaining programs.I've directed and produced international field shoots in Russia, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Germany, and have traveled across the United States to produce segments on an active aircraft carrier and inside prestigious cultural institutions. I've directed green screen shoots, produced animation, written scripts and overseen productions of all sizes and budgets.I'm also the co-host of the podcast, "The War on Cars" and have devoted a lot of time outside my professional work toward making city streets friendlier and more humane to people on foot, on things that roll, and in transit. Much of my advocacy work in the safe streets world is informed by my experience in television, and I've consulted governments, companies and non-profits on successful marketing and messaging strategies to make the case for smarter streets and more functional, livable cities.I have studied and performed improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York. I'm the author of "The Engaged Groom" (HarperCollins, 2005) and my writing has appeared in The Guardian, The New Republic, The New York Daily News, Jalopnik, Time Out New York, Salon.com and other sources.Specialties: Writing.
