Wenjinishkayun Elders, Helpers, Firekeepers, and builders worked with students from The Bronte Creek Project to build a 12 foot Traditional rice collecting Birchbark Canoe. The canoe is used to teach, and is currently at the teaching roundhouse in New Credit. The Canoe represents tradition skills, teaching,stories, respectful relationships, and the recognition of Aanishinabek territory.I am currently working with Wenjinishkayun, Blyth Education International Summers, and the Bronte Creek Project, while developing further River Slider Projects. Each program includes a five day canoe trip or snowshoe trip. Over fifty safe supported wilderness trips with an emphasis on staff training, student leadership and teamwork.
