Human centered planning professional with more than 20 years of experience bringing people together in pursuit of shared goals. I have worked in a variety of settings, from towns to San Francisco tackling transportation, housing, and environmental challenges while seeking opportunities to move projects and policies forward. I understand the urgency of our times and recognize and appreciate the speed of getting things done at the speed of community.I now work at Jacobs, helping clients tackle the challenging issues of the day as we prepare for all of our tomorrows. One of the projects I work on is the State Route 99 Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan, covering almost 250 miles from Bakersfield to Sacramento.I am the former Transportation Planning Manager at the San Francisco Planning Department. In this role, I led ConnectSF, a multi-agency collaboration focused on planning and building an effective, equitable, and sustainable transportation system for San Francisco’s future. ConnectSF defined a 50-year vision, projects, and programs that will shape San Francisco’s future. I also led the team reinvigorate the effort to add a Caltrain sttation in the Bayview, 25 years after it was first studied. The project is now moving into design (2023)! Prior to joining the Planning Department in 2016, I spent 15 years at the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) in various capacities including staff, project, and fund management. Some of the projects I led include: expansion of Bay Area Bikeshare to Ford GoBike, Plan Bay Area (2013 Regional Transportation Plan), $3+ million annually in grant awards for transit oriented development, $50 million Bay Area Transit Oriented Affordable Housing (TOAH) fund, low-income and minority community planning and grant programs, and active transportation. As a former teacher, I know that every single one of us has so much to learn and to offer in our own, unique style. I bring that perspective to every day of work - meeting colleagues, electeds and members of the public where they are first and foremost.
