Next Destination Pty Ltd , formerly Magellan GPS Systems and PHM Survey Centre , pioneered the introduction of GPS technology to the Mining , Oil and Gas and Utility industries of Australia with the Ashtech , Magellan and NovAtel brands and then to the wider consumer Outdoor and Sports markets with the Magellan brand. In 1995 we developed the world's first GPS controlled anti collission system for a stacker and reclaimer mine operation for Rio at their Marandoo Mine site.Prior to starting Magellan GPS Systems in 1988 in Perth, I was the General Manager of IGW Surveys ( Fugro ) in Abu Dhabi , senior surveyor with National Marine Dredging in Abu Dhabi and senior surveyor with British Petroleum in the North Sea and Abu Dhabi.
