Activities included:-- Managed an 18 month UK Government/Industrial Collaboration Project investigation flow Chemistry.- Presented Posters and talks at Chemical meetings on this Project.- Generated Proposals and Customer reports for Chemical and Pharmaceutical companies winning new business.

Activities include:-- Manage a team of Chemists, Chemical Engineers and Shift Chemists.- provide monthly reports /presentations for Senior Management meetings.- generate Control charts and statistical analyses using Minitab, JMP (SAS) and SAP data.- apply Britest Facilitator training to increase process understanding and make improvements.- provide Technical support to Commercial colleagues and generate Product Cost analyses and data for Price negotiations.- completed Validation of various raw material, process and equipment changes.

Working in the Chemical Process Improvement Laboratories my activities included:-- optimising filed processes.- improving or developing new chemistry to early intermediates or raw starting materials (RSMs).- developing new analytical methods (HPLC, GC) for projects.- applying a range of resources and techniques including Beilstein, SciFinder, electronic journal searches and statistical optimisation by Design of Experiments to develop and improve chemical processes.- collecting kinetic data to aid optimisation using techniques such as Dynochem and Britest.- producing and evaluating process timings/costings using Excel to prepare Scan Sheets and bills of materials.- contributing articles, presenting and participating in monthly global teleconferences for the Pfizer Best Process Chemistry website becoming a Sandwich site champion and subsequently an editor for the site.- ensuring successful technical transfers of API manufacture both from and to overseas manufacturing sites.- analysing RSMs (price and volume required) to help establish best projects to pursue.

- Wrote a Research proposal which won a Royal Society Overseas Fellowship sponsored by Elf Atochem- Investigated free radical reactions of xanthates.- Advised on preparation of and corrected papers, abstracts and Ph.D. theses.
