Douglas "Doug" McCabe is a recognized design & manufacturing executive and product & operations leader with a proven track record in successfully designing, developing, and manufacturing product solutions at the intersection of construction and manufacturing. Doug is the Director, Manufactured Construction Solutions at KATERRA and spearheads new product development & introduction of SMEP manufactured assemblies focused on single- & multi-family residential and commercial construction; leading a team of designers, engineers, and tradesmen. Doug has a record of adding value and unparalleled success leading transformational excellence, developing complex manufactured assemblies & products, and attracting & managing top performers to ultimately support and scale KATERRA's business objectives globally. Previously, Doug was the Director of Engineering & Design for Manufacturing (DFM) at Construction Innovations (CI) where he managed the design of manufactured products used in electrical construction projects. He collaborated in the successful completion of utility-scale solar projects ranging in size from 16 to 150 MWAC and collaborated closely with the estimating, manufacturing, production, and installation teams to ensure quality designs completed in a timely manner and within budget. Doug also is a champion of continuous improvement standards, tools, and methodologies throughout CI. Formerly as COO of a high power television and radio broadcast products manufacturing company, Doug maintained oversight of the engineering and manufacturing functions on a global scale. He traveled the world collaborating with vendors and customers bringing quality systems to developing broadcast markets. Employing a hands-on approach to realize manufacturing and design processes, Doug worked with tools ranging from state-of-the-art software to machining centers. Doug has over 30 years of experience in high power broadcast engineering, manufacturing, and construction and his diverse background also includes prior roles as COO, VP Engineering, and Manufacturing Manager. Doug was born in Maryland and earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of South Florida in 1992 and completed his coursework for a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Sacramento.
