Provides advice, resource recommendations, and conducts workshops to help AU faculty maximize their teaching effectiveness through the effective use of educational technology hardware and software for in resident, distance-learning, or blended applications. Contributes to the purchasing process of newly emerging ed-tech advancements by staying attuned to developments in the industry, actively participating in EDUCAUSE and related symposia, and keeping the University informed of developments in this area. Creates, maintains, and delivers instructional workshops and consultation services specific to curriculum design & development, delivery, and assessment. Offers instruction in teaching skills, focusing both on learning theory and practical skills specific to resident and distant-learning instruction. Manages the scheduling, optimal configuration of tables/seating, and A/V system operation and/or training for numerous teaching spaces throughout the TLC which host symposiums, lectureships, faculty workshops, academic classes, writing tutoring sessions, community forums, and many other teaching & learning-centered events. Conducts private (confidential) consultations with faculty across AU starting with setting personal teaching performance goals and includes observation/feedback of actual, trial, and/or practice teaching sessions. Routinely directs students experiencing difficulty with academic writing to access online writing resources and establish tutoring sessions with qualified faculty as needed.

In this career broadening position, I teach the Civilian Acculturation and Leadership Training (CALT) course to USAF civilian employees who have 2-7 years time-in-service, no prior Professional Military Education, and a Bachelor's degree. I also teach selected Warfare Studies and International Security Studies auditorium lessons to cadets at the Officer Training School (OTS). I assist with managing the CALT course and work as part of the WS/ISS Curriculum Team to develop/revise curriculum for CALT & OTS.
