November 2008 – August 2009 Night Wellsite Drilling Team Leader (East Azeri Platform Offshore Caspian Sea) + secondment to supply chain.Baku, AzerbaijanSupporting the day Wellsite Drilling Team Leader delivering wells on East Azeri platform offshore ensuring full compliance with BP program and safety rules offshore Caspian Sea. Well D13 of which I was intimately involved is still regarded as the BP best in class well for the Caspian area.During the period of 2009 I was seconded to Supply Chain (PSCM) supporting the European Wells Services Project (EWSP) for the well placement sector. Assisted with preparing terms & conditions, scope of work and technical / commercial evaluations of EWSP. During post tender negotiations in Aberdeen this role expanded into Project Manager for the Azerbaijan SPU supporting the Wells Manager, liaising with other technical specialists in Aberdeen and Baku and also the tendering suppliers where appropriate. This support extended to technical support for negotiations. September 2006 – October 2008 Technical Specialist Wellbore Placement (Directional Drilling & L/MWD) Baku, AzerbaijanJoined BP from Baker Hughes INTEQ Technical specialist for the Drilling Excellence Team, Specialising in all aspects of Directional Drilling and L/MWD for the AzSPU based in Baku. Supporting the AzSPU line teams for issues involving DD L/MWD. In particular technical, financial and reliability. Database custodian for survey database (multiple 48 slot platforms and sub sea developments) This role was expanded in 2008 to include all BHA related issues and as custodian of the SPU Drilling Technology Plan. During this period one of the main Well Placement (DD/MWD) suppliers was turned around from having multiple cluster failures into their most reliable operation globally all with high end DD/MWD services.
