I oversaw this $700M global company’s 6 product service lines, with responsibility for delivering the technology, technical support, and capital budget to facilitate execution of the business plan. In this role, I successfully managed asset allocation, new technology commercialization, pricing, and repair/maintenance (R&M). Reporting directly to President/CEO, I managed a staff of 9 direct and 40+ indirect reports in the US, Canada, Middle East, North Sea, and Asia, and directed critical technology development to meet changing industry and business needs. I also managed an annual capital build budget of $25M+ and coordinated asset utilization globally. In addition, I planned and led strategic technology projects, partnering with R&D, Manufacturing, Finance, and Operations, and served on the Patent Review Committee.Selected Accomplishments:• Enabled $8M+ in added revenue by taking over and turning around a key acquisition. Rebuilt the team, completed the stalled R&D effort, and field tested, manufactured, and commercialized a disruptive technology in active magnetic ranging.• Spearheaded the development of a $6M unique and innovative shale evaluation tool.

This was a promotion to direct the management of high-value surface and downhole assets for this Fortune 500 company. I supervised a staff of 6, with indirect support staff throughout the world, and managed a global fleet valued at $1.5B while controlling an annual capital build of $225M+. I worked in conjunction with Operations, Manufacturing and R&D on capital budgeting, asset scheduling/delivery, and capital spend forecasting.

I was selected to lead the development of advanced LWD sensors in the areas of HeatWave, SineWave, and Scintillation Azimuthal Gamma Ray technologies. During this time, I directed R&D, feature design, and product launches.Selected Accomplishments:• Managed the development and commercialization of 4 groundbreaking technologies, enabling the company to become the industry leader in LWD sensors.• Spearheaded the design and launch of a new high definition micro-resistivity imager.

While in this role, I oversaw LWD global operations and technology development, with $200M in annual revenue. I held responsibility for $400M in capital, and I set all pricing and managed R&D functions.

I was recruited to develop new LWD products. As part of this, I worked closely with the Drilling Services’ R&D group.Selected Accomplishments:• Established the program for the PressureWave Formation Tester that delivered a successful formation pressure measuring tool and delivered more than $8M in revenue.

This $390M developer of drilling technologies recruited me to direct global operations. While there, I supervised a staff of 10 and reported directly the CEO.Selected Accomplishments:• Dramatically reduced bad debt and improved receivables by instituting a company-wide credit policy.• Integrated an acquired company into the Tesco infrastructure with no loss of management personnel.

After serving as a Country Manager in Qatar for this division of Halliburton, I relocated to corporate headquarters to manage 3 major product lines: LWD, MWD, and Surface Data Logging, plus associated global technical support groups for R&M and product champions. I was responsible for annual revenue in excess of $675M during the year that Drilling Services broke the $1B revenue barrier. I also determined annual capital budget and allocation, supported sales efforts by creating and delivering technical presentations, and performed strategic planning.Selected Accomplishments:• Established technology leader in the LWD market• Increased revenues and business expansion by leading startup projects in Baku, Turkmenistan, Malaysia, Gabon, and Nigeria.• Recognized for delivering the highest margin services within the division.

In this role, I was responsible for all business activities in Qatar for Sperry-Sun. I held direct P&L responsibilities for all 5 product lines, the accounting group, and the R&M facility. I also supervised a staff of 8 direct and 175 indirect reports.Selected Accomplishments:• Grew the business 45% in 1 year by developing a business plan that delivered +$50M in revenue.• In 1999, successfully managed business during the market collapse while maintaining a monthly profit.• Establish in country full R&M center for all downhole tools and drilling equipment, including multi-lateral windowsPrior to this position, I held Regional Manager, Project Manager, and Operations Supervisor roles with Sperry-Sun in Gulf of Mexico, Alaska and the Middle East.
