A BIT ABOUT ME- Raised in Southern Africa, love the bush.- Lived in the UK 5 yrs and USA 15 years. Enjoyed both places but was a square peg in round holes.- I currently live surrounded by rice fields, near Vientiane, with my wife and two boys.- I work in remote areas, loads of 4WD experience :)WHAT DO I DO?I manage UXO projects in Laos, since 2005. Currently waiting for monsoon season to finish before continuing a UXO Survey project on the remote Hồ Chí Minh trail, in eastern Laos.My role is to oversee all aspects of the project, including operations, support and administration, ensuring the work is done to a suitably high standard across the board. - I closely manage survey and clearance operations: reporting work progress to the client.- I'm field based, either living in camp or in a nearby town depending on needs.- GIS is a hobby of mine, I do the mapping, and track the work using GIS and Excel.- SOPs are an important part of UXO work, they're the foundation of healthy, accident free operations. - Working to high standards engenders confidence in the quality of the work.- In short, I maintain high standards, so we all go home with pay in our pockets and in good health.MORE ABOUT ME ANOTHER DAY
