RxActuator, headquartered in Tucson, Arizona has developed the first Wearable infusion pump, the Mini-Infuser™. The Mini-Infuser is a new and unique technology solution to provide reliable, constant drug flow rates. Mark Banister, RxActuator’s founder and Chief Executive Officer, invented a polymer which exhibits unprecedented expansion generating high force. From this discovery we developed our current award-winning Mini-Infuser™ pump. This lightweight, wearable, disposable micro-pump platform has a broad range of drug delivery capabilities. As Chief Marketing Officer, I'm responsible for the Commercialization of RxActuator Mini-Infuser™ Wearable Subcutaneous Constant Rate Infusion pump. We manufacture a wearable subcutaneous drug delivery pump for animals. The subcutaneous medicine flow reduces the possibility of error and reduces staff time, therefore reducing costs for veterinarians.

Oversaw Engineering, Product Development, Product Research and Program Management for SynCardia Systems, Inc. Led teams from successful launch to obtaining all Regulatory approval for the in-house production of SynSPUS(TM) Polyurethane, the material used to make the Total Artificial Heart. Led team from initiation through technical development, supply chain development to achieve all Regulatory approval of the SynHall(TM) Mechanical Heart Valve within 12 months. Both strategic core technologies are in full production for the SynCardia Total Artificial Heart (TAH-t). Led team to develop the smaller 50cc TAH for smaller sized patients to compliment the current 70cc TAH. Led the team to Develop the NextGEN ultra quiet Freedom(R) 2 Portable Driver for home use.

Oversaw manufacturing, quality and engineering for SynCardia Systems, Inc., the privately-held manufacturer of the world’s first and only FDA, Health Canada and CE (Europe) approved Total Artificial Heart. SynCardia’s mission is to provide Bridge to Life technologies for patients dying from heart failure, a chronic and progressive disease that claims the lives of hundreds of thousands of people each year. Originally used as a permanent replacement heart, the SynCardia temporary Total Artificial Heart is currently approved as a bridge to transplant for patients dying from end-stage heart failure affecting both sides of the heart (biventricular failure). There have been more than 1,600 implants of the Total Artificial Heart accounting for more than 250 patient years of life on the device.
