Fixture Designer Responsibilities:- designing complex holding fixtures for machining, assembly and transporting of aerospace parts using Catia- creating dimensional drawings - application of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)- creating bill of materials- creating assembly instructions for building of fixtures- overseeing assembly of fixtures with operators- researching potential suppliers for fixture components (within Canada and United States)- preparing Request for Quotes (RFQ) - accountable for selecting appropriate suppliers - negotiating contract details with selected suppliers- managing contract with supplier’s production of the fixtures- resolving any concerns and overcoming obstacles when presented- overseeing projects to maintain budget- training team members as needed NC Programmer Responsibilities: - creating complex 3 to 5 axis NC programs for CNC machines using Catia and SmartCam software- material removal using the most efficient tooling speeds and feeds- editing and customizing post processors- verifying CNC programs and their G-Codes using Vericut- creating setup instruction manual for the machinists- performing liaison duty with the shop personnel for immediate problem resolution
