As a Principal with Harness Dickey, I focus on protecting and enforcing my clients’ most important intellectual property assets in courts throughout the country and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board within the USPTO. My practice includes handling all aspects of the litigation process, from filing the initial suit to leading discovery efforts, and from negotiations to the trial itself. I further use my experience as a litigator to provide infringement, freedom to operate and validity opinions, as well as draft licensing agreements and handle the related negotiations. This breadth of experience puts me in a position to advise clients on how each IP issue fits into their larger business goals, and to guide clients in managing their IP portfolio to provide protection and assets for the future.My clients include innovators and leaders in the pharmaceuticals, chemicals and biologics fields. I have also worked with clients across numerous technology fields, including: satellite communications equipment, agricultural equipment, exercise equipment, medical devices, pest and mold remediation, automated meter reading systems, injection molding machines, vehicle parts refurbishing, spray tanning booths, heatsinks for electronics, and antenna testing equipment. My clients include both large multinational and publicly traded companies, as well as small businesses faced with their first IP issue. All of them appreciate that I do not bring a one-size-fits-all approach to my practice, but rather tailor my approach based on each client’s individual needs.

I worked in all areas of patent litigation, particularly with a focus on the pharmaceutical arts, including a variety of ANDA litigation brought under the Hatch-Waxman Act. My experience also included work in patent prosecution, due diligence, counseling and opinions of counsel.
