Farming, I learned a great deal about how to innovate since it was pretty often something unexpected would happen, and either you got to hike a mile or you figure out how to fix it so you can limp whatever piece of equipment back to the shop. At a young age I learned how to service and repair all sorts of farm equipment. This gave me a practical understanding of mechanical systems. I learned to think outside the box. We came up with some pretty interesting ideas. You may not know it, but it's a fact that you can jump start a vehicle with a single piece of bailing wire...My father didn't teach me much with words, so when he did give advice, I listened. He said "Son, you can do anything you put your mind to." And you know what? So far he has been right.
