Doug championed a cross functional continuous improvement environment where the following are some of his many accomplishments: • He provided leadership, mentorship, and management of a Team of 163 engineers and technicians with five direct report technical managers with an operating budget of $10.2 mil/yr. • Directed the design, development, and implementation of digital ATE stations, resulting in test times reductions greater than 30% and increased test coverage by 20% - 30%. • Reduced overall new product development process cycle from two and one half years to 14 months. • Driving force in overall process yield/automation improvement to over 90% accomplished over a three and one-half year period. • Accomplished real time design reviews for producibility and testability via CAD link workstation tools. • Directed the development/implementation of on-board diagnostics for all new product PCBs for use by design, manufacturing, and service. • Defined, implemented, and supported ongoing organizational excellence training programs, such as: JIT, SPC, workmanship certification, and repair certification. • Developed overall plant process capacity model for the purpose of: direct labor cost center headcount analysis to schedule, throughput analysis, process shift utilization, capital acquisition planning, and warehouse utilization staffing. • Defined, developed, and implemented a computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) engineering organization within manufacturing to address overall company enterprise. • Leader of corporate product value engineering/cost reduction team with the objective to improve product profit margins.
