Providing IT Infrastructure services for a mission critical web content management system which included:• a global user community with 24x7, approval based web content publishing capability, support for over 20 languages, containing over 100 000 web pagees• integration with web analytics, email list managers, W3C validation, Active Deirectory authentication, Microsoft DFS + IIS. Responsibilities• Infrastructure Lead for Teamsite \OpenDeploy , Teamsite Search upgrade. Content Management System in use published to over 200 web sites. Also upgraded during this project was its Content Delivery Network (CDN) consisting of Microsoft DFS server and Microsoft IIS • Developed Disaster Recovery solution (High Availability) for departmental content Management system using Teamsite , OpenDeploy. Work included planning for various failover scenarios, providing Operational procedures and Concept of Operations documentation, implementation of the Content Management system at secondary site, requesting required RFC through Change Management Office, scheduled fail-over and fail-back procedures in production environment.• Reducing project risk by closely monitoring and ensuring Patch Management processes in development environment was more current than production and for Windows 2008 R2 servers and Windows 7 development workstations.• Developed Microsoft SCOM management pack ( service states. Event thresholds and alerts) specific to HP\Auonomy suite of products and IIS for improved incident and problem management.• Provided on going support for development community in a Microsoft network and HP\Autonomy application development environment. Tasks included troubleshooting Active Directory \ DNS issues, installation of developer workstations, troubleshooting TeamSite\SMTP\ListManager workflows

• Migrated a 25 node office from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2. Migration included: AD migration to 2008 function mode, Exchange server migration from Exchange 2003 to Exchange Server 2010, DNS, WINS, DHCP, IIS, and file services migration to Windows 2008, Windows Update configuration, scheduled backup of Virtual Host and Guest servers.• Server migration included installation and configuration of Windows 2008 R2 HyperV and creation and configuration of a virtual server. • Post migration tasks included physical and virtual server tuning and optimization, and system documentation

• Implemented a Microsoft Operational Framework (MOF) for a database operations section within EDC. Tasks included categorizing and vetting over 5000 documents’ relevancy to ITIL service management functions for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Mainframe (Adabas) and utilizing Microsoft Sharepoint Services as the repository for all articles, gathering requirements for improving technical processes with emphasis on Change and Incident Management, Security & System Administration, and developing Change and Incident recording systems. Provided continual MOF training and guidance to database operational staff.• Implemented IpMonitor system which monitored software to fill gap from RDBMS specific monitoring tools. Server health was checked for disk capacity, hardware failure, and ongoing file growth. Database team was alerted via email and remote paging to provide dynamic server health reports via email or URL.• Developed a discretionary access security model for SQL server developers following the recommendations of an OAG audit. • Provided system architecture for enhanced server deployment which included the migration of development servers from SAN to local SCSI disks. Conducted performance tests of various disk configurations to confirm improved performance.• Technical lead for Data Warehouse (SAS 9.1.3) server migration from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003. Also provided an updated security model, installation and system configuration documentation. • Created a custom Incident Management reporting system used for daily operational server health (25 servers). Components used consisted of Logparser 2.2, SQL 2000 and Microsoft Reporting Services.

• Provided engineering and architecture services for a Government of Canada CMS) pilot and proof-of-concept projects using Interwoven TeamSite 6.5 SP2 for Windows 2003, Team Site Search, OpenDeploy Base and Receiver with DataDeploy add-on and MetaTagger. • Responsible for integration testing, deployment, change management, and installation documentation for externally developed .NET applications to exist within FAC \IT CAN's Signet3 network. • Developed enterprise wide naming standards, procedures, and processes for the creation and management of Active Directory (service) accounts required for web applications, COM+ objects, and Operating System services. Adopted standards were used by a wide range of stakeholders, facilitating improved and consistent account management.• Improved server health with diagnosis of application, operating system, and network emerging issues using Microsoft resource kit utilities and other 3rd party utilities such as the SysInternals Suite.
