Participated in vendor selection for parts and materials.• Envisioned the overall architecture of the industry standard foam-in-bag and foam-in-place machines and completed the entire mechanical designs from layout to final documentation.• Enabled production to continue and kept machines in the field by successfully designing and implementing a critical field retrofit in a short timeframe • Increased the life of a key component 6 to 10 times reducing costs and the frequency of service by determining the procedure and designing the equipment to adjust a critical setting.• Reduced costs and eliminated a major field service issue by proposing and designing a ball valve mechanism integral to the handheld dispenser manifold.• Reduced the costs of wire harnesses by 45% or more by taking ownership of harness design and developing my own documentation scheme allowing quick sourcing from multiple vendors.

Projects included an automated assembly machine for large transformer winding cores, a milling machine for slotting timing belts, and an automated electrical and mechanical tester for automobile cigarette lighters.• Enabled an assembly machine to ship by empirically proving the machine was gluing pieces within the required specifications and the customer's own raw materials were out of tolerance.
