I have over 40 years experience in the Transportation Industry and have done just about anything involving the Rail/Transit fields. I have worked in both the United States of America and Canada and am very knowledgeable with both countries Rail Authorities/Regulations (FRA, Transport Canada). My experience includes; Train Operations (Including train service - I am formerly a Conductor and Locomotive Engineer with service experience in both the US and Canada), Service Design, Signaling (both design and maintenance - I am a qualified Signal Maintainer), Railcar and Locomotive repair and maintenance, Derailment cleanup, Derailment cause finding, Authored all required Rail documents including; Time tables, Special Instructions, Operating procedures, SMS Plans (Safety Management Systems), Training procedures and tests, etc. Experienced at training and qualifying Locomotive Engineers and Conductors. Project Management has involved modifying existing Rail maintenance buildings to be multi-functional; to managing new / existing rail and transit construction projects. I have also overseen both Signaling and Rail Construction re-hab and new construction projects. My experiences also include Rail/Signal Engineering from conceptual design to field construction. Other Engineering experiences include, reviewing RFP's, RFQ's, Tenders and submissions of same. I am also experienced at the issuing of these same items for tendering purposes. I am known by my peers as a "hands on person who gets the job done, while maintaining Safety, Budget, and Schedule".
