I started my career at Arthur Andersen, where I was classically trained as an auditor and developed a disciplined approach to solving problems. I became a retail / e-commerce expert at Talbots, J. Jill, Aramark, SmartPak and KUIU. At Outpost International I honed my start-up skills by establishing financial infrastructure, acquiring and integrating a company, and seeing development-stage companies through to launch. At Granite I became a Business Intelligence expert. I introduced and rolled out PowerPivot and SharePoint, which have provided invaluable, actionable business insights that have directly resulted in significant profit improvement. On the data visualization front, I have been actively building dashboards and are designing automated operational processes and procedures around this new self-service BI. In short, we are revolutionizing how we manage the business, with stunning results.I enjoy my work immensely. I lead by example and take the time to train and mentor team members. I have a “closet Type A” personality that impels me to be aggressive and ambitious, yet humble and self-effacing. I believe it is important to maintain a sense of humor and avoid taking yourself too seriously. I also believe deeply in the power of strategic thinking, patience, and a strong work ethic. Maybe most importantly, I know – and am quick to remind our team members – that it is okay to lose a battle if you are on your way to winning the war.
