Douglas I. Bayer concentrates on matters involving residential and commercial real estate, estate planning and administration and general corporate matters. He is a member of both the Connecticut and New York bar.Doug began his legal career in 1994 as a litigation associate at a New York City law firm. In 1998, after representing clients in all facets of their cases, from intake through trial, Doug relocated to his native Connecticut to join a general practice law firm, where he became managing attorney in 2001, and which was the predecessor firm to Bayer & Black, P.C. In 2024, Bayer Law was formed. Doug brings a practical and personal approach to all matters from complex real estate transactions, to the formulation and preparation of sophisticated estate plans, to the analysis of potential litigation facing a client’s business.In addition to his work as an attorney, Doug served on the subcommittee of the Fairfield County Bar Association charged with revising the region's Standard Form Residential Real Estate Contract. He is also a featured speaker at local seminars to the public and realtors on the current state of the real estate market.Doug has been an active member of the local community having served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Wilton Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of the Wilton Family Y and the Wilton Water Commission. He currently serves as Secretary of the Wilton Planning and Zoning Commission.Prior to receiving his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 1994, Doug earned a B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University and completed a General Course at the London School of Economics.
