Worked in the lab of Dr. Blake Hill. Conceptualized, planned, managed and executed an independent research project examining the effect of point mutations in hFis1 oligomerization in mitochondria. Initial results were compiled into a summary research paper and evaluated by MCW and Marquette faculty. Research will be continued in the 2015 academic year.Not only established the TOXCAT assays in the Hill Lab, but utilized techniques and is proficient in cloning, protein purification, and SDS-PAGE micelle systems.

ExSEL IIA nine week, forty hours per week program assigned to Dr. Stephanie Ware’s Lab in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center’s department of developmental cardiovascular biology. Research was in downstream targets of ZIC3 in embryonic development. The research was then presented at the Capstone poster competition with the SURF program.ExSEL IA five week, nine hours per day, summer enrichment program broken into five, one week modules focusing on molecular genetics, cell biology, neuroscience, immunology, and structural biology. Funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
