Initially, upon joining Cameco, my role was Director of Operations for the Cobourg facility from 2004-2007. With 150 employees this was one of two facilities for Cameco Fuel Manufacturing. In addition to this role I was responsible for the Marketing of products CFM produced. In 2007 I became responsible for Marketing functions. And, as business developed, I moved solely to Marketing.In this role I was primarily working to develop business in Canada and Asia while employed at Cameco Fuel Manufacturing. CFM provides fuel channel and reactor core internals, as well as Candu fuel bundles.During this time I developed an interest in the developing SMR market and became the SMR lead for Cameco. This has led to working relationships with several of the SMR developers.At Cameco Fuel Manufacturing I was recognized as the technical lead for the core internals.My role was to leverage the strong CFM Project Management and Engineering ability for in core reactor components for PWR, Candu and SMR type reactors.

P&L responsibility including all aspects of Operations in this USW unionized machine shop. As an example of strategic thinking and decision making, I improved union relationship from extremely adversarial to neutral by implementing regular formal and informal discussions.Developed project management system and responsibilities of engineers to foster better project deliverables including quality and profitability.Close work with Corporate Sales Team created a wider customer base through acquisition of new accounts. This created less reliance on cyclicality of one major customer.

P&L responsibility for full scope of Operations in a 24/7 non-unionized high tech manufacturing shop.Improved project planning by implementing structure, roles and responsibilities with stage/gate system.Took a hands on approach initially to strengthen the project costing including detailed self-review of quotations.Undertook collaborative approach to meet project budget and timeline by negotiating customer needs and capabilities of the plant to deliver expected quality, cost and timeline.

I began working as the Engineering/Maintenance Manager at the Honeywell FRAM automotive manufacturing facility in Stratford in 1994. After 2 years I moved to Product Line Operations Manager and then after 6 years moved into Product Engineering Management.The facility employed 500-600 people overall, and as the Product Line Operations Manager I was responsible for over 300 employees.

I held responsibility for all Engineering and Maintenance activities at this newly constructed and commissioned 250,000 sq. ft. aluminum extrusion plant.Senior Manager responsible for all aspects of equipment and building engineering and maintenance with responsibility for a staff of 25engineers and mechanics.
