Regular volunteer with Habitat for Humanity building affordable new homes and repairing existing homes for deserving people in the US and Central America. I also chair the Advocacy Committee for Habitat for Humanity, Orange County, NC, working with local, state and national legislators to increase funding for affordable housing.

In those positions, I provided consulting services in portfolio, program and project management to a wide range of pharmaceutical clients. These efforts were designed to help organizations improve how they manage their projects, make their project teams more productive, develop their leaders, plan their organizational strategy and effectively manage change.

Taught graduate courses in Managing and Monitoring Clinical Trials, Clinical Project Management, Leadership Development and other life sciences courses in the Clinical Research Program in the College of Pharmacy and Life Sciences. Served as Graduate Advisor to students conducting their Master's Degree research projects.

With his team of 60 professionals on five continents, Doug was responsible for developing and delivering numerous professional courses in project management, drug safety, clinical monitoring, data management, and electronic data capture for over 15,000 Quintiles clinical trial staff worldwide.
