Read my story with my pictures.I am a long time economic development practitioner, specializing in investment attraction for over 25 years connecting people, companies & organizations, creating relationships & bringing businesses & market together. Expertise in business development, investment, marketing & trade development. I've worked with Government for over 40 years, almost all with the business community, business partners & other stakeholders ultimately, to market Alberta. When I began my career, I expected to eventually work in the private sector, not Government. After a long career I feel I've had the best of both worlds. I covered economic diversification sectors of the economy, all sorts of business, met all kinds of business people including now, our energy sector. I highly value the friendships I've developed & meeting some really interesting people along the way. I love my work & frankly, the unparalleled opportunity to facilitate, be a "connector" for communities & businesses around Alberta with businesses, jurisdictions & partners outside the Province, is the best possible career I could have ever have imagined.I have enjoyed an economic development career of 30 years, in tourism development, investment, economic development & more recently some trade too. A short, enjoyable secondment in International Relations offered insight into the immense challenges & continual change brought about with globalization! I'm interested in economic & business development, especially creating working relationships with entrepreneurs, Alberta’s SME’s & communities supporting business.I love telling Alberta stories!Promoting Alberta as a great place to do business is & has been far more than just a terrific job.
