Douglas A. Comstock is retired from NASA after 21 years as a senior executive. He was most recently NASA's Deputy CFO for Agency Budget, Strategy and Performance. He led the implementation and integration of Agency budget, performance and strategic investment analysis. He was previously on a detail assignment as the NASA HEOMD Commercial LEO Liaison. In this role he was the focal point within NASA's Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate (HEOMD) for developing and communicating an integrated strategy for maximizing the potential for growth of commercial activities in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). He was previously Deputy Chief Financial Officer for Integration at NASA Headquarters. He was previously Director of the Cost Analysis Division in the Office of Evaluation at NASA HQ, in the Office of the Administrator. Previous positions at NASA HQ: Director of the Innovative Partnerships Office November 2006 to November 2011; Comptroller October 2004 to October 2006; Director of the Strategic Investments Division June 2002 to September 2004. Before coming to NASA, Comstock spent four years as a program examiner in OMB, with responsibility for NASA's human space flight activities, biological and physical research and personnel. Prior to his government service, he was Director of Engineering with the Futron Corporation, a Bethesda, Md.-based technology consulting firm, and began his career with General Dynamics Space Systems Division, conducting preliminary design and systems analysis for numerous aerospace systems, from strategic defense to advanced space transportation.
