Writing this summary was an interesting exercise for me. The prompt provided indicates you should discuss tenure and accomplishments. I think a better summary is how I made the decisions that led to tenure and accomplishments. When I was very early in my career a client asked me to counsel their son that was denying stealing a few hundred dollars. I’ve always believed in the very simple mantra of “Do the Right Thing”. While I was talking to this individual, I completely butchered a Martin Luther King Jr. quote that I have now used many times with my two sons and countless people I’ve worked with. My version of the famous quote is, “The measure of the person is what are you going do about IT. It doesn’t matter what IT is, it only matters what you do about IT”. Own up to and learn from your mistakes and bad decisions and move on. Life is a lot simpler when you just do the right thing.
