Earned one of the highest combat decorations, the Distinguished Flying Cross with Combat "V" for valor for leading the first non-stealth aircraft strike element into Baghdad during the opening phase of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

VF-124 (89-92), VF-213 (92-93 deployed to Iraq and Somalia on the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN CVN-72), TOPGUN (93-95) and VF-213 (95-97 deployed to Iraq on the USS KITTY HAWK CV-63).
