I worked on the Enterprise team, whose primary role was to create, extend and maintain systems and applications to onboard clients to enable access to the Cleo services. My role included creating new services using Typescript and Nestjs and extending existing systems in a Django application written in Python.

I worked for Shutterfly, and was responsible for expanding and maintaining their 24/7 production software infrastructure. My primary responsibility was to add new tools and features used in production to run the business successfully. My work included improving the systems' stability and scalability that produces their premium photo books, gifts, and other photo products. In the department where I work, we use open source-based technology on local and cloud-based platforms with Python and JavaScript as our languages of choice for software development. As a full-stack developer, my goal was to improve the user experience for production personnel by creating and enhancing the software that interacts with our production systems and equipment. To achieve this involves creating Python and JavaScript based systems to provide local and cloud-based functionality that served and React Angular client-side applications. The interfaces between the backend and frontends are through REST and WebSocket communications.

As the manager of the internet engineering group I was responsible for scheduling the work assigned to my team and resolving project work flow conflicts. Besides the general managerial tasks (budgeting, personnel, etc.) I also actively contributed to the LAMP based software development projects and played a major role as the system architect for our systems.

I was involved in all aspects of our online reference title web site development. We primarily worked in the LAMP technology stack (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP/Python). I created multiple complete projects personally or as part of a team, many important utilities and managed projects to successful completion. I was also instrumental in moving the environment from Sun/Solaris, C/C++ and Oracle products to LAMP based technology stack, which saved hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and improved performance dramatically.

I developed new high speed SMT (Surface Mount Technology) machines for the electronic assembly industry. I developed an application for Windows NT using C++ that configures and controls the machine. This program was developed using the MFC framework and included the GUI, DB and real time machine control. As with most embedded systems, I gave special emphasis to high performance code and techniques to create a soft realtime system that was fast and highly robust.
