My focus is 3D indoor mapping, navigation, visualization (including AR & VR) and data sharing solutions. Markets include AEC, FM, real estate and high-traffic facilities (medical centers, universities, corporate campuses, factories, shopping malls, airports, etc.). Indoors is the latest 3D Reality Capture / Modeling workflow challenge. LiDAR point clouds and hi-resolution images are captured quickly by a mobile indoor platform and then processed to create immersive scenes. Further deliverables and value are added when data is exported to and exploited with CAD and BIM (Building Information Modeling) software. This process is called Scan4CAD and Scan4BIM. These indoor scenes can also be integrated with exterior models captured by airborne, terrestrial and vehicle-mounted systems.I have created dynamic startup companies and have grown existing businesses in large companies – these groups all have become industry leaders. Defining a corporate vision and then devising the strategy, roadmaps and operations to implement that vision is my passion. My primary activity was creating a 4th startup specializing in workflow software for indoor mapping, exploitation, visualization and sharing. Source data was LiDAR point clouds and images captured by any mobile indoor capture system including handhelds, backpacks and carts. We began software development to create 3D models directly or exported into CAD or BIM software applications. Planned visualization solutions anticipated the tremendous growth of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) demand.A business plan was generated reflecting five years of exploring indoor mapping markets and solutions. The funding process had also been initiated at the time I discovered and joined NavVis GmbH.
