I managed the dev, test and production environment application stacks, enforcing process and maintaining a cohesive view of current and planned application versions over time. I maintained environment integration views for visibility of development progress.Roles: Business Analyst, Solution Designer.Major projects: unitisation (migrating from crediting rates to unit prices), periodic benefit statements. I worked closely with the business to refine requirements, the architects to design the integration solution, and the development team to implement required bug fixes and enhancements. I created a web based shopping cart purchasing system and delivery charge calculator. I created interfaces to payment gateways to provide real-time credit card processing. I secured payments and sensitive areas of websites using SSL and user management.
I led a team of C++ developers on projects including: a communication package to synchronise data between remote sites via modem; a complex job costing and analysis system for catering equipment suppliers / manufacturers; a newsagency package including Point Of Sale, home delivery and sub-agent management, inventory management, user and technical documentation; an Electronic Data Interchange application to automate ordering and communication between newsagencies and their suppliers. I worked as a C developer to maintain and support a vehicle rental industry package used in 100+ locations across Australasia including rental and lease contracts, reservations, fleet movement and central reservations. I linked systems to Sybiz Vision Accounting via custom classes. I interfaced systems with third-party spreadsheet, Crystal Reports, JPEG, fax and communication DLLs. I liaised with users, beta testers, sales and marketing and independent system testers. I installed software updates and supported clients remotely via modem.
I installed computer systems in small businesses and schools, installing and configuring networks between Windows and Macintosh workstations. I configured Internet accounts using proxy servers to share bandwidth between multiple workstations. I supported and maintained operating systems, software and hardware, both on-site and remotely. I trained students, teachers, private users and business users. I provided support for a wide range of software, from accounting to educational programs.
