Over a five year period, grew automotive refinish coatings division from $450M annually to a $1.2B global, multi-brand, automotive aftermarket paint.

As an expatriate general manager, grew global markets (service and distribution) through entry into new market niches and geographic expansion into South America, Asia and the Eastern Bloc (new opening economies). In two years, grew business from less than $100M to a $125M global business. Held responsibility for all operations outside North America.

Merged organizations – and competitive technologies – and doubled size of business, while directing sales and technical support for sales ($500M annually) of paint to all European automotive OEM manufacturers. Managed all functions and led integration of this $40M privately held chemical treatment business (Chemfil Canada) industries into PPG, a then $7B public company. Expanded into Europe through direct sales effort and into Asia and South America through licensing (Honda, Nissan and Toyota).

For this $300M business, directed all marketing and product management of major product line for automotive OEM customers. Streamlined manufacturing processes and generated new product that performed at a higher technical and competitive level, while lowering costs.
