Key roles and responsibilities:IRSE 7.8.230Av3 – Senior Engineering Manager (Maintenance)• Lead and direct two Assistant Signal & Telecoms Maintenance Engineers and Four Signal Section Managers (SSM)• Manage development of individuals and the engagement of the team• Restore to normal operation after completion of testing/investigation, equipment that has failed, been subject to an allegation or has been renewed as part of a maintenance delivered renewal programme. • Complete SMTH SFI ‘Level 3’ Wrong side Failure investigation and sign off• Manage the arrangements for staff safety and competence• Manage the inspection maintenance and faulting activities on signalling assets within Motherwell DU• Identify and implement safety, asset performance, reliability, productivity, and efficiency improvement initiatives. • Develop and agree annual maintenance, inspection and testing programmes and resource levels• Check that safety, assurance, compliance, performance, and business processes are followed• Undertake investigations and report on accidents/incidents. • Liaise daily with senior management to explain in detail, issues from the previous day’s failures• Undertake an agreed programme of safety tours, staff surveillance and asset condition checks• Manage and sign off Special Inspection Notices (SINS)• Ensure compliance with relay re-servicing, wire degradation and silver migration standards• Identify and propose asset renewals• Carry out monthly team briefs covering safety, standards updates, performance and Capex delivery • Manage the process and handover of Signalling and S&C Renewal Projects within Motherwell DU area by attending various meetings and ensuring compliance with NR/L2/MTC/089 (AMP) process• Responsible Signalling Engineer (RSE) Testing as is required in NR/L3/SIG/11235/G110• G110 Test Schedule Author, Checker, Approver & NCD

Key roles and responsibilities:• Line manager for two Signal Support Technicians• Delegated responsibility for four Signal Section Managers• Carry out ‘Level 3’ Wrong side Failure investigation and sign off• Responsibility for maintenance and faulting activities within Motherwell DU• Instrumentation Engineer responsibility for Intelligent Infrastructure design and installation of Logger Equipment • Carry out safety, surveillance and equipment inspections• Write numerous reports including Failure, Inspection, Compliance & Renewals• Manage and sign off Special Inspection Notices (SINS)• Manage the relay re-servicing, wire degradation and silver migration databases• Submit renewals proposals as and when required• G110 Test Schedule Author, Checker, Approver & NCD

Key roles and responsibilities:• Responsibility for nine maintenance and faulting teams based at Carstairs & Lockerbie• Plan and ensure completion of all maintenance activities within two depots on WCML• Manage maintenance backlog and catch-up prioritisation• Carry out level 2 maintenance inspections and safety checks • Carry out ‘Level 2’ Wrong side Failure investigation and sign off• Carry out monthly team briefings for 27 technicians• Management of rosters, overtime and annual leave• Manage the availability of spares through MSP returns and material request
