I’m very proficient in both engineering and management, with over thirty-nine years’ experience in the railway signal engineering field, twenty of which have been in senior management, have allowed for the development of an individual with a combination of the technical, managerial, and organisational skills essential for success in today’s railway. This experience has provided intimate knowledge of the challenges facing signal maintenance teams, not least the challenge of managing front line staff to ensuring compliance with standards, rationalisation of maintenance frequencies where correct and improvement of asset reliability whilst at the same time dealing with budgetary concerns. Overcomes challenges through a determined and pro-active approach - drawing on wide-ranging technical expertiseImplemented plans & systems to monitor - staff safety checks/ surveillance and competence. Monitored asset performance, reliability, productivity, and efficiency within responsible area along with providing technical guidance and support when required. Responsible for completion of technical inspections and investigations as required along with maintaining accuracy of systems, databases, and records. Delivered numerous renewals projects & upgrades within maintenance which have been planned/ delivered by me on time and within budget.I have been heavily involved with the roll out and delivery of design and installation of the Intelligent Infrastructure RCM loggers monitoring Points, TC’s, Temperature and Bus bars.
