Responsible for managing the Internal Audit Department and performing risk assessments, internal control evaluations, financial or operational audits and fraud investigations at the Corporate Headquarters, Plants, Distribution Centers and Service Center or Golf Truck location sites. Reported directly to the Chief Financial Officer and supervised four auditing associates. I was promoted from Internal Audit Manager to Director of Internal Audit in 2004.•Developed a risk assessment and internal control evaluation program (using COSO guidelines) in 2004. SOX Project was completed in accordance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 from 2004 thru 2007 which resulted in a cost savings to the organization of approximately $500,000 in the first year.•Developed, implemented and managed the newly created Inventory Cycle Count program used at all Plant, Distribution Center, Service Center and Golf Truck location sites. This process along with other self-assessment, inventory control, shrink reduction and associate training programs provided a cost savings of $2.5 million to the organization because of improved inventory results.•Drafted Plant, Distribution Center, and Retail Service Center or Golf Truck location site audit programs. Drafted a Corporate Policy & Procedures Manual (i.e., finance, accounting, treasury and tax policies). Developed a Self-Assessment Audit Program completed by the Store Operations management team.•Became a member of the Company’s “President’s Club” in 2005 (primarily due to the SOX risk assessment, controls evaluation and compliance work completed in 2004).
