I build teams to accomplish shared missions. Whether the goal is to capture a national championship or a government contract, the process is still the same. We establish a vision for success, we map a path forward in pursuit of that goal, and we execute with relentless attention to detail. My experience as a coach of National Champion springboard and platform divers has shown me without a doubt the value of relentless effort. As a business development consultant capturing millions of dollars in government bids with my clients, I learned the fundamentals of skillful communication, government contracting, and capture. As the Program Director of one of the largest Olympic diving programs in the US, I learned the art and science of team-building, crisis management and resilience. Today, I am able to leverage this eclectic collection of experiences and skills to guide professionals through the federal government RFP response process. Our shared vision is a proposal win. Built by Beavers LLC was re-established in 2010 after we won the bid to operate all diving programs for the Montgomery County Recreation Department in Montgomery County, Maryland. From 2010 - 2021, Built by Beavers LLC ran these programs under the team name "Montgomery Dive Club." Montgomery Dive Club established itself as a consistent producer of NCAA and USA Diving International competitors, and produced/influenced numerous top USA diving coaches along the way.Between 2010 and 2021, Built by Beavers LLC: - Grew the program to unprecedented revenues - Established expansive training opportunities for local coaches - Developed a broad range of programming for all ages and skill levels - Hosted the USA Olympic Diving Team Pre-Olympic Training Camp - Conceived, planned, marketed, and executed the "Lead-Up to London" Dive Show 2012 - "Lead-Up to London" Dive Show 2012 featured entire USA Olympic Team as well as local divers - Conceived, planned, marketed, and executed the "East Meets West" Dive Show 2016 - East Meets West" Dive Show 2016 featured Top Chinese National Divers, Local DiversIn 2011 Built by Beavers LLC proposed and established a Public-Private Partnership with the Montgomery County Parks Department to create a brand new acrobatics facility adjacent to the diving pool. The approval process was arduous, requiring a complex written proposal, a public presentation/justification and relentless networking. Opened in July 2012, our acrobatic training facility became an invaluable resource to thousands of local kids.

I worked at a small consulting firm from 2005-2010. I managed a portfolio of clients seeking to win healthcare-related contracts in the government space. During this time I learned the fundamentals of government contracting, capture, opportunity shaping, RFP analysis, and the proposal response process in general. I learned a great deal about commercial and government pharmacy during this time through my support of our pharmacy focused practice, which was run by Rory Rickert. Clients included Thompson Reuters, UnitedHealthcare, OptumHealth, RxEOB, Silverlink, and PARIO.

My wife and I first established Built by Beavers LLC in 2001 in St Louis, Missouri. After years of working for the City as a contract employee, Rec-Plex Management elected to privatize the program. They selected us to continue daily operations, but we took on additional administrative responsibilities. We managed all of springboard and platform diving classes for the City of St Peters, Missouri. We had a staff of between 4-6 coaches between September 2001 and August of 2005. The program quickly established itself as one of the top developmental diving teams in the US, winning the 2001 USA Diving West National Championships, and hosting the 2004 USA Diving Olympic Team Trials.In this role I served as Meet Director for numerous major USA Diving competitions. I was the President of the US Professional Diving Coaches Association, a member of the USA Diving Executive Board, and I served as Volunteer Coordinator for the 2004 USA Diving Olympic Team Trials.

Hired as the first ever Program Director Head Diving Coach for the City of St Peters, Missouri. Began with zero divers, all boards on Durafirm stands, and a plan. Within four years the "Lightning Diving Team" was in the top ten in the USA Diving Junior National Championships. Lightning Divers went on to capture numerous state and national titles, competed at the USA Diving Olympic Team Trials, and one former member (Kelci Bryant) won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.As Program Director I was in charge of recruiting and hiring staff, determining the program policy, training the coaching staff, marketing the programs, and building relationships within the local, national, and international diving community. In this role I was also responsible to oversee capital projects related to the diving program, including the installation of on-deck trampoline, on deck dry-board, acquisition of tumbling and training mats, as well as design and development of overhead spotting harnesses.Deeply involved in the push for, planning and execution of the conversion of all springboards to concrete stands at the St Peters Rec-Plex. This decision opened up significant opportunities to host higher level competitions. As the Head Coach I was in charge of program architecture, talent identification, training plan design, competitive season planning, and daily coaching of 30 divers.
