About Douglas Benoit, Edd

Dr. Doug Benoit just retired after serving as the Acting Dean of Business at Santa Ana College. Prior to this position, Doug served as the Dean of Applied Sciences and Business at College of the Desert. Prior to his arrival at College of the Desert, Doug served as the Dean of Business & Computer Information Systems and Economic and Workforce Development at Fullerton College. Before Fullerton College, Doug served as the Dean of Business, Computing, Technology and Career Services at Orange Coast College from 2007 to 2015. In addition, Doug has served as the Dean of Instruction for Career and Technical Education at Coastline Community College for two years and oversaw the Garden Grove Learning Center. Dr. Benoit also served as Dean of Instruction for five years at Clover Park Technical College and Associate Dean of Instruction for five years at Centralia College, both in Washington State. Before his administrative positions, Doug served for seven years as a full time faculty member and division chair at Gateway Community College in Phoenix Arizona. During his time in Phoenix, Dr. Benoit also worked with Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff AZ as a Curriculum Design Specialist. In addition, Doug served as an adjunct professor at Argosy University teaching masters and doctoral level courses in educational leadership. Dr. Benoit earned his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Higher Education Administration at Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Adult and Vocation Education at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.Doug has over 31 years of experience in higher education including positions as a faculty member, department head, division chair, a curriculum development specialist, an associate dean, and dean’s positions at a comprehensive colleges in major metropolitan areas, comprehensive community colleges in rural areas, a technical college in a large metropolitan area, and two universities.Prior to his experiences in the educational field, Doug worked 12 years in business and industry.
