I have conducted studies on development of protective films based on natural compounds (chitosan, N,N,N-trimethyl chitosan, carboxymethyl cellulose) with antifungal properties for coating fruits. I have used computational techniques to optimize results in polysaccharide synthesis. Such studies allowed me to have a Patent filed (PI 0702096-1 A), aiming for a new synthetic route to obtain soluble chitosan derivative. Chitosan and its derivatives are very useful material and now I am using it in development, characterization and application of nanoparticles to agribusiness for incorporation and controlled release of vitamins.I have taught courses in specific disciplines such as Thermal Analysis and characterization of nanocomposites and I have implemented specific lines of research, managing undergraduates and master student in areas such as mold growth.Some techniques that I have skill: Thermal Analysis (DMTA, TGA), spectroscopic (H-NMR, 13C-NMR in solid form, FTIR, UV-visible), contact angle, viscometer, Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC-Advanced) and microscopic (AFM, SEM, optical).Specialties: 1996-1999 - IQSC - São Carlos. Master in Physical Chemistry. Basic goal: taking industrial waste (bagasse from sugar cane) for technological applications such as thermoplastic. 2000-2003 - IQSC - São Carlos, PhD in physical chemistry. Basic objective: to obtain soluble cellulose derivatives (carboxymethylcellulose) and chitosan (trimetilquitosana) for treatment of aqueous effluents.
